Dogie and his wife, Prissy Pearlene, are avid competitors in Cowboy Action Shooting. He
is twice retired, first from law enforcement and second from the gospel ministry. He
completed his education, earning a doctorate in Biblical Studies along the way.
Dogie, as he is known in cowboy circles, has turned from “preachin’” to being a “teller of
cowboy stories.” When asked why storytelling in place of preaching, Dogie replies, “It took
a bunch of cowboys to make an old preacher with a cop’s attitude feel at home.”
Dogie and Prissy travel and participate in cowboy events as often as being absent from
the grandchildren will allow. Dogie is in high demand as a speaker at cowboy events and
a preacher at regular churches and at cowboy churches. Missions and outreach
ministers find the ministry of cowboypreacher.com particularly interesting.

This is truly an exciting time for Dogie and I. Even though we’ve been married since
1974, we are amazed how God continues to use us as long as we stay open to His plan
for our lives. Retirement for the two of us has only sped up our pace, and we rejoice daily
that we are healthy and ready to do His work whenever and wherever possible.
I was always someone’s secretary and not much for outdoors. I now use those
secretarial skills to serve the Lord in the administration of cowboypreacher.com.
I finally became a cowboy action shooter a couple of years back, and I have to admit it’s a
lot of fun and a huge challenge. Shooting has changed all that and has already taught
me many valuable lessons about ministry, life and things about myself I would have
never known.
My number one joy in life is serving a Risen Savior, secondly, being my husband’s best
friend and pard, and thirdly, being a grandma to three beautiful grandchildren. I am truly a
blessed woman and I give God all the praise!
